Last week I announced the idea of the Family History Through the Alphabet Challenge, and got positive feedback, from a number who wish to participate … so now it begins.

Without repeating the whole of the original post, which you can read here … we’re looking for genealogists worldwide who are bloggers, Facebookers, and/or Twitterers (hmm, should that be Tweeters?) to join in us in taking the Family History Through the Alphabet challenge.

It’s not hard, you just need to use the current letter for the week (as we’re starting at the beginning – this week’s letter is A), and connect it to someone, something, or a topic relating to your family that you’d like write about.

For instance, for letter A you may want to mention something about a great aunt of  yours, or an article that was in a magazine or newspaper, or have an adoption in your family. You may even like to mention a website, book or society that has really helped you along the way … anyway I think you get the idea.

For those that are blogging, I’ll be compiling a list of each letters posts – which I’ll add under this entry. If I happen to have missed anyone’s please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Particularly for bloggers coming up with a topic, and sitting down and doing each week can be a challenge, so please don’t feel that you have to participate in EVERY letter if you don’t want to.

If anyone has any queries, please feel free to write to me at alona@gould.com.au.

So lets get this Challenge started!!
Tell us what ‘A is for’ in your family history …
