FINDMYPAST GRANT FOUR DAYS OF FREE ACCESS TO ALL
MILITARY RECORDS (AND MORE) FOR REMEMBRANCE DAY 2019

Leading genealogy website Findmypast, are making their entire collection of military and civilian records FREE for four days to coincide with Remembrance Day. So all UK, Irish, Australian, Canadian and US military records are free to view from the 8th to the 11th November 2019.

Researchers will be able to search for their ancestors in a variety of fascinating documents ranging from service records and pensions to medal rolls, POW records, casualty lists and more. By providing free access to these detail rich documents, Findmypast is offering all visitors to the site the chance to honour the struggles and sacrifices endured by their military ancestors by telling their stories.

So apart from the free access to 85 million military records, Findmypast are also offering users free access to all other records including censuses, births, marriages & deaths, wills, education & employment records, travel and social history records as well.

Free access to such a wide range of resources will enable researchers to paint a complete picture of their ancestor’s lives, before, after and during their military service, as well the impact it had on the wider family.

From 12.00pm GMT, 8th November until 12.00pm GMT, 11th November 2019, all 85 million records within Findmypast’s “Military, Armed Forces and Conflict”” category will be completely free to search and explore, providing family historians from around the globe the opportunity to uncover the stories of the military heroes within their own family.

To translate this for Australians, based on Sydney time that means Findmypast give you free access starting today, Friday 8 November from 11.00pm and that runs through until Monday 11 November, 11.00pm.
