The big genealogy conference that is on the Australian calendar for 2019 is the “Waves in Time Family & Local History Conference & Fair“. This three day conference is hosted by Caloundra Family History and is being held on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, from 24 to 26 May 2019, and registration for this event has recently opened, so book your spot today.

The event begins on Friday with a full morning of free public talks on family history themes of interest to researchers from beginners to more experienced such as Ancestry, Trove and FamilySearch. The afternoon program comprises of three workshops. Meanwhile the free family history fair will continue throughout the weekend. The rest of the conference comprises of talks by local and interstate presenters on various aspects of family history research, as well as a separate stream of talks specifically on local Queensland history, there’s something to interest everyone. The conference dinners are a nice way to top off the day and offer opportunities for further catching up with friends and meeting other attendees informally.

There’s 25 speakers on the program including: Louise Coakley, Dr Jon Prangnell, Dr Richard Reid, Cara Downs, John Graham, Dr Madonna Grehan, Dr Jennifer Harrison, Liesl Harrold, Helen Smith, Jason Reeve, Paul Parton to mention a few. This is going to be an incredible conference and an amazing learning experience for everyone attending.
