December the 5th is International Volunteer Day. This event is celebrated around the world, as it is a day to recognise the efforts of all the volunteers who graciously give their time to help out in so many ways in so many industries.

And we all know that family history societies, genealogy groups, libraries, archives, museums, heritage centres and so on, rely on their volunteers, and are so very thankful for them and their help.

Then there’s all the online projects that people take part in: transcriptions, indexing, photographing graves and so on… the list goes on. Every one of these things helps someone find their family easier.

So take a moment to thank those that help out in their many ways.

And if you’re an organisation, why not print out a “Certificate of Appreciation” for your volunteers. They will be thrilled that someone is noticing and appreciating their efforts.

And from us here at Gould Genealogy & History,
we’d like to send out a #GLOBALAPPLAUSE
thanking all of the many, many volunteers in the genealogy community.
Your help is invaluable.
