Held once every three years, the Australasian Genealogical Congress usually attracts around 1000 delegates from around the world for four days packed full of genealogical conference sessions, lectures and exhibits.
With the last Congress held in 2009 in Auckland, New Zealand, the Organising Committee for the 13th Congress, to be held in Adelaide on 28th-31st March 2012, is already well underway, and has released its Call for Papers.
The theme of the Congress is “Your Ancestors in their Social Context” which is broad enough to encompass such topics as Research, Advances in Technology, Records, Archival Repositories, DNA, One-Name Studies, Software Programs, Professional Archival and Library Services.
They anticipate people from throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as a number of attendees and speakers from overseas. There will be a large Exhibition Hall for exhibitors.
Those wishing to submit a proposal for a presentation or run a workshop can find details on the Congress website. In addition documents a copy of a blank Speaker Agreement Form for Australian and International speakers can be found on the website. The Speaker Registration Period closes on the 31st July, 2010.
