Since 11 August 2020, MyHeritage has allowed users to use their photo colourisation and enhancing tools for free, without any limit. This offer runs through until 10 September, so you still have a few days left to take advantage of it, if you haven’t already.

Along with that, MyHeritage are running a competition asking you to show them your enhanced and colourised photos, to go into the draw to win a full MyHeritage subscription.

They say … “To celebrate the occasion, we’re holding a social media contest for your enhanced and colorized family photos. When the offer ends on September 10, three lucky winners will be selected to receive a free MyHeritage Complete subscription for one year! They’ll enjoy free access to all contents and features on MyHeritage, such as all 12.5 billion historical records, Smart Matches™, Record Matches, Instant Discoveries™ — and, of course, unlimited use of the Photo Enhancer and MyHeritage In Color™ far beyond this month’s offer.”

this is a photo of mine which I colourised and enhanced using the MyHeritage tools

How to enter:

  • Create an account on MyHeritage if you don’t already have one (it is free)
  • Upload and enhance and colorise your favorite family photos using the Photo Enhancer and MyHeritage In Color™.
  • Then post the image to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram with some details about the photo. Use the hashtag #EnhancedandColorized and tag @MyHeritage in your post.
  • To show the transformation, be sure to post also the original image. Or, download the photo as a side-by-side comparison, to show the original and the enhanced and colorised version side by side.

That’s all! If they love your post, MyHeritage say they may contact you privately to learn more details about the story behind it. Along with the winners they will also feature some honorable mentions as well.

So what are you waiting for? Get those old photos out, get scanning, colourising and sharing! You never know, you may well just be a winner. Remember you have to be in it to win.

I don’t have enough good words to say how incredible these features are. They show us people and places in a new light, giving them life. Making them more real.

If you haven’t had a go using the colourising tools yet, simply head to https://www.myheritage.com/incolor and you can get started.
