Can I get a copy of my great uncle’s military service?
His name was William Griffith Evans and his serial number was 52789. He was wounded on the 28th October 1918 but I can’t find out where he was when he was wounded.
You could get in touch with the NZ Society of Genealogists to see what records they have on hand http://www.genealogy.org.nz/. And also the NZ Army Museum would be a place to check out as well http://www.armymuseum.co.nz/.
If they can’t personally help you with records of William, I guarantee they’ll give you pointers on where to look next. 🙂
Thank you for this information.
Through this I have found 2 ancestors that I didn’t even know were in the services let alone killed in the war.
