Christmas 2015 has been and gone, and so has the new year and Trove’s old newspaper digitisation team are no longer in holiday mode, as they have set themselves an amazing schedule to digitise almost 100 newspapers during the next six months.
The newspaper titles listed below are those that are scheduled to be on Trove by June 2016. And they suggest that if you are interested in a particular title you may like to subscribe to the web feed which alerts you to new titles as they are added to Trove.
Covering titles from each state, and dates ranging from the early 1800s through until the 2000s, there is an incredible rage in this coming collection. These titles have been funded for digitisation by various contributors which are indicated in square brackets after the title name (see below for the abbreviations).

Wow – you are an awesome team – thank you for all your hard work -look forward to searching more cheers Toni
Happy New Year to all the team – many thanks for this news – a great deal of work and new research for us all to look forward to…
Wonderful work – you people do an absolutely amazing job- so valuable and always much appreciated 🙂
I hope that these are still going ahead, the National Library has had big funding cuts (on top of the so-called ‘efficiency dividend’ funding cuts they have each year) which are likely to affect their newspaper digitisation program.
TROVE is one of my favourite websites, I tell everyone what a useful resource it is. I am excited about the incredible “rage” that is coming. 🙂
I cannot begin to tell you how important your work is to my research of my family history. Talk about “putting meat on the bones”, the Trove collection has done this in spades !
Many, many thanks
Cannot believe the luck I have had in tracing a 2nd cousin twice removed. He was a roman catholic priest from the Eastern Suburbs named Fr Roger Piper OFM. I have found so much information on him in the
Sydney Morning Herald and the Freemans Press. You are a great team.

Wayne it is always great news to hear that newer papers are being digitised from every state in the nation and they are no where near aquiring them all.
As a constant user of this fabulous site of which I am a member, I correct what I can so that when others search for info it will be found much quicker. I not only do it for this site but others too as newspapers have much more to provide in finding anything whether it’s genealogy or history it will be found either in books or photographs and ofcourse in print.
And lets not forget that it is FREE to search and retrieve the information.
So I ask that all that use the service, register as a member so that you too can correct the digitised print to read correctly for others to find and as Kath above stated that the Nat Lib of Aust has had funding cuts we will being doing something for our Nat Library.

I have just discovered this great site and look forward to learning so much more of use in my research. Thank you for all your hard work.
Hi the team at Trove, I love all the information about what makes Family History more than Names and Dates to be able to add every day events that happened to the ordinary daily routine of people – to our own family members. At times the Newspapers of the day show where people lived and what they did for a living better that the Electoral Rolls. My only wish is that the Newspapers from the early years of Belfast/Port Fairy Victoria could be added I know that because I have family ties to this area it would be a great resource personally, I also think the Historical link the area has to the early days of Victorian settlement. The Whaling Industry, the Farming, it just seems like a town that embraced life at the time. But keep up the good work it is a resource that is certainly not used to its full potential
