Congress, Australia’s big tri-ennial genealogy conference, is now less than six months away. You can still book after that, but you will be paying the full rate.
When: 9-12 March 2018
Where: International Convention Centre, Sydney, NSW
Price: $475 (early bird rate), $575 (regular rate)
Speakers & Program: As well all know, choosing whether to attend or not is often based on who is speaking and what topics are on offer, and for 2018 Congress has a great mix.
The keynote speakers are:
– Angela Phippen (Australia)
– Judy G. Russell (USA), The Legal Genealogist
– Lisa Louise Cooke (USA), Genealogy Gems
– Paul Blake (England)
– Paul Milner (USA)
– Ruth Graham (Australia)
You can read more about each of the speakers here.
I’ve had the pleasure of hearing most of them speak, and the wealth of knowledge between them (as well as a bunch of local speakers), is truly incredible.
Be sure to check out the full Conference program here, but just as a taster, there are talks on awesome apps that can use to help you with your search, 17th Century English sources. There also talks on German, Irish, Aboriginal, Australian research. Military, Freemasonry, DNA, ethics, digitising, organisation, blogging, writing, education records, archives and assisted emigration are also covered.
Combine the speakers and talks, together a great exhibition, and it really will be an awesome Congress.
