Supplier Highlight: Pen & Sword

logo-pen-sword-books-600

From time to time we highlight products – this time I’m highlighting a whole range from a particular supplier … Pen & Sword.

This English based company is well established as a specialist publisher of military books, releasing hundreds of new titles a year. It was around 2005 when they released their first family history title, and putting it simply, they haven’t stopped since.

Pen & Sword Books is part of The Barnsley Chronicle newspaper group. This newspaper is one of the UK’s oldest regional papers having been launched in 1858 and one of the few weeklies still in private ownership.

Over recent years the company has continued to grow and has added new imprints to its core area of military history. Pen & Sword now specialise in all areas of military history, naval and maritime history, aviation, local history, family history, transport, discovery and exploration, collectables and antiques, nostalgia and true crime.

While they have many titles that are useful for family historians, I am highlighting just their Family History series of titles here, and have grouped them into categories for you.

If you’re after a good guide book, you can’t go wrong with a Pen & Sword book. These titles are available from us at Gould Genealogy & History, Pen & Sword direct, and other good booksellers.
