The Queensland Family History Society has been busy adding more data to their “Members Only” section. The latest addition added here is the Queensland Commonwealth Electoral Roll 1969. This has been available as a CD for some time, but now all QFHS Members have access to this data online from home, and it is one that you will not find online anywhere else (such as Findmypast, MyHeritage, FamilySearch or Ancestry). This database provides details of more than one million people in Queensland who were registered to vote in the 1969 elections. It lists all the information recorded in the rolls of National Archives of Australia: BP94/2 (Commonwealth Electoral Rolls for Queensland).

The Electoral Roll is a unique source of public information on individuals at the time. Enrolment and voting were compulsory for those aged 21 or older, so Queenslanders from all walks of life are included. Combining the range of information with the search and sorting facilities can be especially useful for finding family groups.

Join QFHS today and get access to this exceptional resource, and be sure to do it before 31 January 2020, as they have a special discount offer for new members:
– single membership $70 (normally $84)
– dual membership $105 (normally $119)

The Queensland Family History Society continues to make more records available to its members throughout the world, and there are plans for adding on the following in time:

  • Queensland School Admissions
  • Customs House shipping lists
  • More cemetery records
  • Railway employees and much more. Don’t miss out on access to these records.

Remember to join before 31 January 2020 to get the special discount membership fee, as well as exclusive access to their Members Only records.
