In honor of Valentine’s Day, MyHeritage are giving everyone FREE ACCESS to marriage (and related) records in their massive historical records collection (over 400 million of them!!) from now through until Sunday, 17 February 2019. No subscription is required, so you anyone can search all US, European, Australian, UK and other collections for your ancestors’ marriage records!
There’s no doubt that marriage records are an important genealogical record as they not only include information about the bride, the groom, and their residence when the marriage occurred, but often contain additional information such as birth dates, birthplaces, occupations, as well as religious affiliations. Often a marriage licence will also contain information about the parents of the bride and groom including their names and birthplaces.
MyHeritage claim their collection is vast, and they’re not wrong. Officially they have 143 Marriage-Divorce collections with 414,486,197 records in them, Here is a list of those collections:
