This coming Friday (2 November) is when the first ever MyHeritage LIVE conference begins. Ok, technically Friday is the registration day and welcome party day, so the conference itself begins on Saturday 3 November, and continues through to Sunday 4 November.

Held in Oslo, Norway, this will be an incredible conference. The speaker lineup alone tells you that, and then you look at the two full days of conference talks and simply wish you were there.

Well, for those who can’t make it to Norway (as much we’d all love to), we can now at least see the conference talks, as MyHeritage have recently announced that they will be livestreaming the DNA and genealogy tracks, and yes, they are FREE!

“We are making the final arrangements to live stream the genealogy and DNA tracks online on the MyHeritage LIVE conference website, so please tune in from 9.00am Oslo time on 3 November. If you need help calculating the time difference to your local time zone, you can use https://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/. Make sure to visit the conference website to see the full schedule and tune in at the time of the lecture to watch the live stream.”

To make life easier for us Aussies, 9am Saturday in Norway, is 7pm Saturday in Sydney. So those in the southern hemisphere, cancel your Saturday night and Sunday night plans and settle in for a weekend of conferencing from home.

If you’re a social media user, you can keep up with the latest from MyHeritage:

And if you’re planning on taking part in the MyHeritage LIVE conference, from home
or in Olso, don’t forget to post and share all your experiences using the conference hashtag: #MHLIVE2018

UPDATE: 1 November 2018
Word from the MyHeritage team is that livestream is free, but you WILL need to register. At this stage the only option showing under ‘register’ is the €100 to attend in person. But they advise to keep an eye on their website, as they’ll be updating it very soon.

UPDATE: 5 November 2018
The conference is over, but you can still view the talks online, and still FREE. Just go to their website (the link above), and they’re right there. Just hit the play button.
