Wow, what a way to start the year! FamilySearch have just announced another 90 million records have gone online. That is 90 MILLION records people … most of which were not online even a month ago!!
About 18 million of these are images. These free, browseable digital images are just a sample of what should be a fantastic year as FamilySearch continues to plug away at digitizing its massive microfilm collection for online access. US researchers will be excited to begin poring over the 3 million new digital images of US naturalisation records included in this update.
Users will also find 72 million searchable, indexed records free thanks to FamilySearch’s team of online volunteer indexers and agreements with Ancestry.com and findmypast.com.
Among the new records are the 1881 and 1891 English and Welsh Census indexes, border crossings from Canada to the US and also Mexico to US can now be searched free at FamilySearch.org.
