Exciting news just in, is that the “Scots in Geelong and District to 1860” CD-ROM produced by Pam Jennings and Susie Zada, has WON the “Best Community Research, Registers and Records” category in the Victorian Community History Awards announced at the State Library of Victoria in August!
To quote Susie “I’m stoked enough to say that there was some heavyweight opposition in this category – including a $45,000 publication from a government department! Pam and I are over the moon – especially as it wasn’t just a certificate but $5,000 cash prize! That is really going to help with some of the things we do in the region.”
If you wish to buy the “Scots in Geelong and District to 1860” on CD or book, you can do so from Susie’s website.

is anything like this being offered for efforts regarding research in South Australia ???
I’m really not sure how many different awards there are offered in SA, but the SA 175 Grants are currently up for grabs: https://www.gouldgenealogy.com/2010/08/sa-175-years-history-grants-up-for-grabs/
If I hear of others, I’ll certainly put it in a blog post!
