The Winners of NLAs Community Heritage Grants 2014

grant money The National Library of Australia’s (NLA) Community Heritage Grants program provides grants of up to $15,000 to community organisations such as libraries, archives, museums, genealogical and historical societies, multicultural and Indigenous groups Australia-wide. The winners of the successful grant applications for 2014 have just been announced, and this year there are 73 grants being awarded, totalling $386,577. Continue reading →

We Will Remember Them …

anzac silhouette English poet Laurence Binyon, overwhelmed by the carnage and loss of life by British and Allied forces in World War 1, penned one of the most moving tributes the world has known to our war dead. Titled ‘For the Fallen’, the poem first appeared in The Times of London on 21 September 1914, and has since become known as ‘Ode of Remembrance’. Continue reading →
