silhoette of troops WW1There is no question that 2014 is going to be a massive year for military history, as it marks 100 years since the start of World War 1.

This will see millions of people all around the world commemorating and honouring the efforts of all who took part in World War 1 by taking part in large and small ceremonies. They will be remembering those who were on local soil, as well and those who fought overseas – as they all played a valuable part int he war effort.

I know that there are a number of Societies, Groups, Museums and Communities who are doing their own World War 1 Project, and are on the lookout for information and photos for men and women involved in WW1 from their town, region or country.

I would like to create a central place to list these World War 1 Centenary Projects, so that people know what is being researched, and in a bid to help spread the word just that little bit further for these groups.

So if you as a individual, a Historical or Genealogy Society, a Museum or Community organisation or even Library has any WW1 Project in the works, please let me know, and I’ll add it to my list and will publish them all as a separate post. I’m looking for Projects, the big ones and the small ones too, that people are working on from anywhere around the world.

Please send an email to myself (Alona) at alona@gould.com.au with details of your WW1 Project, and your contact details.
