During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health.

Our friends over at Inside History Magazine are once pledging their support to Movember, and they are doing it with their Hairy Mancestors. And this year they’re expecting to be hairier than ever.

And they’ve added their own ‘history twist’, by you to share photos of your moustached ancestors to help raise funds for men’s health  (sorry no beards allowed). And for each “hairy mancestor” posted, Inside History will donate to the Movember cause.

To share your photos of your hairy mancestors, simply “Like” the Hairy Mancestors Facebook page and post your photo. Include their name, story and the approximate date of the photo. For each hairy mancestor posted, Inside History will donate 50c to Movember, but to increase the donation to $1, simply post a current pic of yourself (or partner, brother, father, son etc) sporting a fabulous moustache alongside your ancestor’s photo so we can see the resemblance.

Everyone who uploads a photo of their ancestor will go into the draw to win one of two Ancestry.com.au World Heritage Memberships. So what are you waiting for? Do it for the cause, do it to share your wonderfully moustached ancestor, do it to be in the draw! Upload your hairy mancestor today!
