Do your ancestral roots descend from Ireland, and are proud of these Irish roots? If you answered yes to both, be sure to get your Irish Certificate of Heritage.

The Irish government has confirmed it will finally introduce a new “Certificate of Irish Heritage” for the diaspora in October 2011.

The certificate will be available to people with Irish heritage around the world, who do not qualify for Irish citizenship. It will give official recognition to the many people worldwide who are conscious of their Irish heritage and feel a strong affinity for Ireland.

If you are proud of your Irish heritage, why not show it by obtaining a Certificate of Irish Heritage. Applicants will be required to submit details of their ancestral connections along with the relevant documentation.

The scheme is is expected to be operational by October, and the Irish company FEXCO based in Kerry has been awarded the rights to produce and market the certificate.
