It’s time to turn the calendar over as May has now arrived, and with it comes the new issue of the Australian Family Tree Connections magazine.

In this new issue you will discover the real history behind our mother’s or grandmother’s aprons, and I bet you’ll be surprised.

Also Yvonne introduces us to her grandmother, Beatrice Ada Court, as does Sharon with grandma Amy Gay (nee Smith/Ditton or Bunt)? There is an article on the ‘Bank Girls’ at the Bank of Australasia Head Office, and Kaye Moss shares her Cohen family photo with us, as well as giving tips on how she identified each member in it.

In the ‘Can You Help?’ section Annette Pringle shares a photo with us and asks anyone if they can identify anyone shown or help with the kind of uniforms worn, while Mr Maddison asks a question relating to his great great grandfather “Who did Edward Imlay Aitken Marry”? John Beaton has some questions regarding Catherine (Beaton) Buchanan, and Helen Clark is looking for others searching for Mary Ann Bonser (formerly Waterman, nee Cunningham).

There are articles on Ancestors down under(ground), Bitten by the bug, the East Perth Cemeteries Project and the Looking for Mining Ancestors continues with Part 6.

There is now an Internet News section, which highlights some of the latest releases online, while the Computers and Genealogy section highlights a number of websites. A few of these in this issue are London Cab Driver History, Bound for South Australia 1836, Association of Professional Genealogists, Family Deeds, Hertfordshire Names Online, Fife Family History Society and London Street Name Changes.

These are combined with all the regular features such as:
